The LPG e-KYC deadline has passed. What happens if you missed it
Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas customers who did not complete Aadhaar verification by 31 August can be billed at commercial rates until they do.

What this means for you
Check your last refill bill. If it was charged at a commercial rate, or your subsidy credit has stopped arriving, e-KYC is the likely reason and it is fixable at your distributor. If your refills are still coming at the domestic rate, you are already verified and there is nothing to do.
The oil marketing companies set 31 August 2026 as the date by which non-PMUY domestic customers had to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC on their LPG connection. That date has now passed. The stated purpose is to stop domestic-rate cylinders leaking into commercial use, which is a real problem, but the cost of a false positive lands on ordinary households.
If you missed it, the connection is not cancelled. What can happen is that your subsidy transfer under the PAHAL scheme pauses, bookings get held up, and in some cases a refill is billed at the commercial rate rather than the domestic one. The gap between the two is large enough that a single cylinder is worth the trip to fix it.
The fix is the same process, just late. You can complete it at your distributor with a biometric scan, or through the Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas app where face authentication is supported. Take the Aadhaar number linked to the connection and the registered mobile. If the mobile number on the connection is one you no longer use, sort that out first, because the OTP goes there.
