Rules in one paragraph

One account per daughter, two daughters max per family. Open before she turns 10. Deposit minimum ₹250 to maximum ₹1.5 lakh per year, for 15 years from account opening. Account matures on her 21st birthday OR on marriage after age 18 (whichever earlier). Partial withdrawal (50 percent of prior-year balance) allowed after age 18 for higher education. Fully closed only at marriage (post-18) or maturity. 80C deduction on deposit, tax-free interest, tax-free maturity.

  • Authorised PSU banks: SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda, Canara, Union Bank.
  • Authorised private banks: HDFC, ICICI, Axis (limited branches).

Documents: birth certificate of daughter, PAN + Aadhaar of parent/guardian, address proof. ₹250 cash for first deposit.
